A Baltimore man has been convicted by a city jury of second-degree murder and using a handgun in the commission of a crime in the shooting death of a 20-year-old man a year ago.

Leroy Young, 31, of the 2400 block of Loyola Northway was convicted of the May 14, 2005, fatal shooting of Terrence Smith in the 5000 block of Norwood Ave.

Smith, of the 5200 block of Bosworth Ave., was shot and killed while sitting in his car.
