On May 4, 2006, PAUL EUGENE KEIFER, native of Cumberland, MD, following a long illness. Born December 26, 1926, in Frostburg, MD. He was a retiree of the State of MD Banking Department, a life time member of the Knights of Pythias, and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force in the Auditor General Division. He was the official cake baker for the Circulators Square dance club where he combined his two favorite hobbies baking cakes and square dancing. Paul enjoyed spending time at home picking blueberries and apples with his grandchildren. Paul served as treasurer for a local Baptist church, where he also sang solos in the choir. Paul the son of the late George and Ruth Keifer, is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Louise (nee Reynolds) Keifer. Loving father of Bruce Eugene Keifer and Paula Eileen Baker. Cherished grandfather of Gregory Michael, Jonathan Daniel, Steven Paul Keifer, Dorothy Ann and Bridget Sarah Baker. Friends may call at the family owned Slack Funeral Home, P.A., 3871 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD, Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral Services will be conducted from the above funeral home, Wednesday 10 A.M., with Pastor Clarence Byerly officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Cumberland, MD.
