Man fatally injured in motorcycle crash

A 29-year-old Pocomoke City man was killed late Saturday when he lost control of his motorcycle in Wicomico County, police said.

Jason Alan Quarles was traveling south on the Route 13 bypass about 10:45 p.m., preparing to merge onto Route 13 north of Stockyard Road, according to officials from the Salisbury barracks of the Maryland State Police.

As he was approaching a curve, Quarles lost control of his 2005 Yamaha motorcycle, which fell onto the road, sending him about 100 feet into a guardrail. Police said it was unclear whether Quarles was wearing a helmet.

He was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
