Shippen Building welcomes tenant

KRM Development welcomes its first tenant, Chesapeake Laser and Skin Care Center, to the Shippen Building in Stevensville. Owned by Gloria and Ed Peithman, the center will open in June.

Other office space in the building is still available.

Golf tournament set for tomorrow

The Baltimore-Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual BWCC/Dottie's Trophies Golf Tournament tomorrow at Hobbit's Glen Golf Club, 11130 Willow Bottom Drive, Columbia. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.

Marketing firm changes address

RiverWest Marketing has relocated to 647 Ridgely Ave. in Annapolis.

It will hold seminars and workshops on topics such as "Effective Marketing Strategies," "Masterful Marketing on a Limited Budget" and "The Importance of Branding."

Digital printing topic of program

Printing & Graphics Association, MidAtlantic will offer a program on digital printing from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the BWI Airport Marriott.

Topics include "10 Steps to Developing Digital Business," "Variable Data Opportunities" and "Marketing for Digital." A panel discussion also will be held.

Four Hall of Fame inductees named

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce announced that four members of the local business community have been named 2006 Comcast Business Hall of Fame inductees.

Thomas Baldwin of Reliable Contracting, Art Ebersberger, Carl L. Hein Jr. of Hein Bros. Inc. and Becki Kurdle will be inducted at 6 p.m. Thursday at the BWI Airport Marriott.

Connie Helms opens new PR company

Connie Helms, former vice president of public relations at Crosby Marketing Communications in Annapolis, has opened Whittington Helms & Associates LLC, a company providing public relations and marketing communications services.

Helms has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. She has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Loyola College.
