Take an informal poll of adults at almost any orchestral concert anywhere in this country and you are sure to find many who will explain their presence in five words: Leonard Bernstein's Young People's Concerts.

Between 1958 and 1972, Bernstein led more than 50 such concerts with the New York Philharmonic and, thanks to CBS-TV, reached millions beyond Carnegie Hall and, later, Lincoln Center.

The Bernstein Beat takes place at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at Temple Oheb Shalom, 7310 Park Heights Ave. Free. Call 410-358-0105 or visit templeohebshalom.org.
