St. Andrew's to hold Mother's Day festival

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church will hold a Mother's Day garden festival from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow at 4 Wallace Manor Road, Edgewater.

There will be an assortment of crafts, live entertainment and children's games.

Anchor Baptist plans various events

Anchor Baptist Church will sponsor several events this week at 320 W. Pasadena Road, Millersville.

Teen activities with the theme "Mind Bogglers" will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. A men's breakfast and bible study will be at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow. Activities for children in grades 3 to 6 will be from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow. The cost is $2.

Vesak celebration to be held tomorrow

The Mindful Practice Group of Annapolis will hold a Vesak celebration from 9:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, 333 Dubois Road.

Bhante Rahula will lead the Buddhist festival, which will include chanting, puja, meditation, a Dharma talk and vegetarian potluck lunch.

Registration is required, and donations are suggested.

Outreach center will hold meeting

Aglow International Outreach will hold a meeting from 10 a.m. to noon May 13 at the Severna Park Youth Center, 617 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd.

Susie Baker will give a presentation on the healing power of God, the power of forgiveness and how to release pain and bitterness.

Pit beef events planned for May 13

A pit beef sandwich sale and a yard sale will be held on May 13 at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer to raise money for the Arundel House of Hope Resource & Day Care Center.

The pit beef sale will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the yard sale will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 7606 Quarterfield Road, Glen Burnie.

Sandwich and yard sales will also be held on June 10, July 8, Aug. 12 and Sept. 9.

The cost will be $4 for a sandwich or $5 for the meal, which includes chips and a beverage.

Children's chorus holds auction, show

The All Children's Chorus of Annapolis will present its fifth annual fundraising event and concert at 6 p.m. May 13 at Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, 333 Dubois Road, Annapolis.

There will be a silent auction, concert and reception to follow.

The concert will feature pianist Brian Ganz, soprano Mary Anne Barcelona, baritone Jason Stearns and string quartet Ensemble Cantabile.

Grace Baptist holds Mother's Day event

Grace Baptist Church of Sunset Beach will host a Mother's Day breakfast at 8 a.m. May 14 in the fellowship hall at 17 Somerset Road, Pasadena.

Breakfast will be for mothers and potential mothers.

Substance abuse counseling offered

Chesapeake Christian Center will hold substance abuse meetings and counseling at 6 p.m. Fridays and Sundays, and 7 p.m. Saturdays at 7975 Tick Neck Road, Pasadena. Men and women of all ages are welcome to attend.

Basket Bingo set at Brooklyn United

Brooklyn United Methodist Church will hold a Basket Bingo at 1 p.m. May 21 at Roland Terrace Democratic Club, 619 Matthews Ave., Brooklyn Park.

This event will include 20 regular games, special games, and raffles.

Refreshments will sold.

This is a fundraiser to help with the maintenance of charitable services provided by the church for the community organizations and events.

The proceeds will go to Brooklyn United Methodist Church for these charitable programs.

The cost will be $15 in advance and $18 at the door.
