Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.



Victim identified -- Police have identified Shaheed Boyd, 24, of no fixed address as the man fatally shot April 29 in the 4100 block of Elderon Ave. Police responding to a report of a shooting found Boyd bleeding from a bullet wound to the upper body. He died at the scene and was identified Wednesday through fingerprints. Metro Crime Stoppers at 410-276-8888 is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment.

Drug arrests -- Six males ranging in age from 17 to 28 were arrested Wednesday on drug charges after police observed them buying or selling drugs in the 5200 block of St. Charles Ave. One man was arrested after he ran into a house on the block and tried to flush drugs down a toilet. Police seized $542, a 9 mm handgun that was stolen in Richmond, Va., in 1990 and small plastic bags containing cocaine, marijuana and heroin.

Arrest -- Charles Dower, 26, of the 1100 block of Mosher St., was arrested yesterday in the 3600 block of Liberty Heights Ave. on a warrant charging him with robbing a woman April 2 in the 3800 block of Liberty Heights Ave.


Arrest -- Gerald Gardner, of the 3700 block of Pinelea Road in Randallstown, was arrested yesterday in the 5400 block of Jamestown Court on a warrant charging him with attempted murder. Gardner, 36, is accused of shooting Dwight Brooks, 24, in the 4500 block of Bowleys Lane on April 6.


Rape -- Police were seeking a man who attacked a 29-year-old woman as she walked in the first block of S. Eden St. about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, then shoved her inside a portable toilet at a construction site and raped her. She was treated at Mercy Medical Center.

Arrest -- Martay Powell, 20, was being treated Tuesday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center for several gunshot wounds when a Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force detective - who was working on an unrelated case - recognized him as the man wanted in a shooting Dec. 20 in the 1400 block of Thames St. Police obtained a detainer charging Powell with attempted murder.


Shooting -- A 17-year-old was walking in the 2200 block of N. Payson St. about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of his cellular phone and jacket. Before the pair fled, the gunman shot the victim in the left side of the face. He was reported in good condition at Shock Trauma.


Shooting/arrest -- A woman was in critical condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital after she was shot Monday morning by a man she knows. The woman was walking in the 400 block of N. Broadway about 9 a.m. when the man began to chase her. During the pursuit, he fired several shots, hitting the woman once in the left shoulder. Arrested nearby and charged with attempted murder and a handgun violation was McKenzie Hopkins, 27, of the 2000 block of E. Madison St.


Shooting -- A man, 32, was fighting with another man in the rear of the 700 block of Mount Holly St. about 2 a.m. Tuesday when someone shot him in the back of the head and leg. The victim was in serious condition at Shock Trauma.
