Golf tournament to benefit chamber

The Baltimore/Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce and Dottie's Trophies Annual Golf Tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Hobbit's Glen Golf Course on Willow Bottom Road, Columbia. The tournament will benefit membership programs offered by the chamber.

Registration is to begin at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided before the shotgun start, and a reception and awards ceremony and dinner are planned. Door prizes and a "Hole in One" raffle -- with a car as the prize -- are also planned.

The cost is $195 a golfer; $815 a foursome. Hole sponsorships are available for $125.

Chamber organizing electricity co-op

The Baltimore/Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce will launch its fourth electricity purchasing group for businesses, churches, synagogues, municipalities, commercial property owners, banks and institutions.

Participants will have an opportunity to get information about electricity deregulation, benefit from the services of a professional consultant and pool their electricity use with others.

Nonresidential account holders are invited to attend a free information session from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. tomorrow or May 18 at chamber offices, 312 Marshall Ave., Suite 104, Laurel.
