WASHINGTON -- From the stage at the east end of the National Mall, Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel warned the crowd of the cost of keeping quiet about the genocide in Darfur.

"Silence helps the killers," said Wiesel, a Holocaust survivor. "Never the victims."
