Miguel Tejada singled in the first inning to set the club record for hits in April with 40. The player he passed almost certainly will be inducted into baseball's Hall of Fame. He retired in 2005.

The Orioles haven't activated reliever Todd Williams from the disabled list. A move could be made today, but manager Sam Perlozzo decided to have Williams play catch yesterday.

"We'll evaluate where we are and see if we have to make a move [today]," Perlozzo said.

Told that he's looked upon by some people in the organization as a savior, given the bullpen problems, Williams smiled and said, "I sure hope they're not thinking that."
