Towson Gardens Day

The lowdown -- Today, about 100 exhibitions and vending stands with flowers, crafts and nosh will be on display as part of Towson Gardens Day. Hear music from Towson High School's jazz band and a roving bagpiper, and tour Towson's Secret Garden.

If you go -- The free Towson Gardens Day is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. today at the Towson Courthouse Fountain Plaza and West Pennsylvania and Baltimore avenues.

Food, wine, heritage

The lowdown -- The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum will host the fourth annual St. Michaels Food & Wine Festival this weekend. Admission includes access to the museum's 10 exhibit buildings, including the 125-year-old Hooper Strait Lighthouse. Sample wines while taking advantage of shop discounts. Appearances will be made by guest chefs.

If you go -- The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is at 213 N. Talbot St. in St. Michaels. The festival will run today-Sunday. Tickets are $35-$325. ROAR! for autism

The lowdown -- Raise funds for autism research by participating in Saturday's ROAR! (Ride On for Autism Research) bike ride and family festival. Kennedy Krieger Institute will host this event, providing a 25-mile ride for serious cyclists and a 10-mile route for recreational riders. Festivities include face-painting, music and a moon bounce.

If you go -- The bike ride and festival are Saturday and begin at Harbor Point in Fells Point at 7 a.m. Tickets are $30 and $5 for children younger than 12. For directions and to purchase tickets, call 443-923-7300 or go to roar.kennedykrieger.org.
