Loyola tops Towson on 2 goals in final 14 seconds

Loyola scored two goals in the final 14 seconds to defeat Towson, 13-12, yesterday at Diane Geppi-Aikens Field.

Kate Filipelli scored the tying goal with 14 seconds left and Sydney Greene added the game-winner for the Greyhounds (7-7) with two seconds remaining.

Kate McHarg led Loyola with four goals and an assist, and Greene finished with three goals.

Becky Trumbo scored four goals and assisted on two for the Tigers (7-8).

Salisbury 17, Goucher 4 -- Liz Funk, Ani Khatchatoorian and Sue Ackermann each scored three goals to lead the Sea Gulls (15-1) in the semifinals of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament. Laura Webbert had 16 saves for the visiting Gophers (9-7). Salisbury will host Mary Washington in the championship Friday at 4 p.m.

Mary Washington 16, St. Mary's 8 -- Despite Becca Christofferson's three goals and one assist, the visiting Seahawks (12-4) lost to the Eagles (14-4) in the CAC semifinals.
