North Harford routs Wright in girls lacrosse

Laura Lesnick scored five goals, and No. 12 North Harford broke the game open with three goals in a 44-second stretch on the way to a 12-6 victory over visiting C.M. Wright (2-7, 0-4) in an Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference game last night.

North Harford (8-0, 4-0) had ended C.M. Wright's 60-game winning streak against Harford County foes with a one-goal victory earlier this year.

Sarah Willis scored 1:46 into the second half, cutting the lead to 7-4. But Corey Donohoe (two goals, one assist), Emily Gibson (two goals, two assists) and Lesnick scored in 44 seconds to start a five-goal run for a 12-4 lead with 10:10 left. Marley Welsh added two goals for the Hawks.

Boys lacrosse

No. 5 McDonogh 14, No. 7 Calvert Hall 7 -- Collins Carey scored four of his game-high five goals in the first half to help the visiting Eagles (8-3) jump out to a 7-2 lead over the Cardinals (8-4) at the break.

Glenelg 6, No. 14 Mount Hebron 5 -- Chris Gotschall and Greg Schwartz each had two goals and an assist as the host Gladiators upset the Vikings (7-3).

Softball

No. 13 Pallotti 2, No. 9 John Carroll 1 -- Lauren Fusco struck out four and allowed one walk and one earned run for the visiting Panthers (11-8) as they edged the Patriots (8-5).
