Blue Jays update

The Orioles get their first meeting with the new-look Blue Jays. Toronto is 3-2 on its current eight-game homestand, splitting a two-game series with the Yankees and taking two of three from the Red Sox. Third baseman Troy Glaus, acquired in a trade with the Diamondbacks, has paid immediate dividends with six home runs and 16 RBIs, and former Orioles closer B.J. Ryan has given up no runs and three hits in nine innings. Holdovers Vernon Wells (.389, seven homers and 18 RBIs) and Alex Rios (.375, five, 16) have paced the Blue Jays to the highest team batting average in the American League. One-time Orioles target A.J. Burnett is on the disabled list (elbow).
