Roch around the clock

The Kickoff

I see where a few readers are suggesting Bruce Chen go to the bullpen. I'm just wondering who would take his place in the rotation.

It can't be Hayden Penn right now. Penn is scheduled to make his first start today at Triple-A Ottawa. He was held back at the minor league complex in Sarasota, Fla., to build up innings and arm strength. The Orioles are hoping he can give the Lynx five innings in his debut, the same number he logged in his last appearance at extended spring training before his departure.

As for reliever John Parrish, who underwent ligament-reconstructive surgery on his left elbow July 15, he has been throwing on the side and facing hitters in Sarasota. David Stockstill, director of minor league operations, said Parrish is coming along "very well" and could rejoin the Orioles by the middle of May.
