Pressure defense, balanced offense overwhelm Milwaukee

Blast 10 Wave 4

The Blast's offense was impressive in Game 1 of the Major Indoor Soccer League semifinals last night. Eight different players scored goals against the Milwaukee Wave as the Blast repeatedly converted chances it had been missing in recent weeks.

But despite the strong offensive effort, there's no question that defense provided the backbone for the Blast's 10-4 victory before 5,097 at 1st Mariner Arena. The Blast defense hounded Milwaukee all over the field, created numerous turnovers and combined with goalie Sagu to slow the potent Wave attack.
