Rabies vaccinations available for pets

The Harford County Health Department will hold rabies vaccination clinics for dogs, cats and ferrets from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 30 and May 7 at several locations.

The cost is $5 per animal. Dogs must be leashed. Cats and ferrets should be in a pet carrier or box with air holes.

A vaccination certificate will be provided for dog licensing in Maryland.

April 30 clinics will be held at:

Harford County Health Department, 119 S. Hays St., Bel Air.

Susquehanna Hose Company, Revolution Street, Havre de Grace.

Whiteford Volunteer Fire Company, Route 165, Whiteford.

Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company, 3308 Abingdon Road.

May 7 clinics will be held at:

Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, Route 7 and Mountain Road.

Darlington Volunteer Fire Company, 1209 Castleton Road.

Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Company, Rogers and Franklin streets.

Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company, 3825 Federal Hill Road.

Support groups, classes offered

Upper Chesapeake Health offers free support groups and classes.

Many support groups meet at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, while others meet at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace.

The Upper Chesapeake Family Birthplace also offers classes and support groups for expectant parents at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.

Upper Chesapeake HealthLink provides free blood pressure screenings throughout Harford County.
