Currently showing in the Tevis Gallery downstairs is In Bloom, an exhibit fit for the season that features floral paintings, prints and flower arrangements.

Oxx said artwork is always on display in the gallery, but she would like to see more visitors in to see it.

"Getting people in this county to visit that gallery or invest in art is a real challenge," Oxx said.

Potential exists for the center to grow by using the building to generate more income during the week, Oxx said.

There's not too much going on at the center at noon on a Tuesday, but activities such as school field trips, home-school activities and more classes during the day would change that, Oxx said.

With classes that include "Mommy and Me Make Masterpieces," lunchtime lectures and a Friday night showing of The Quiet Man, the arts center seeks to offer something for everyone.

The Arts Center, 91 W. Main St., is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, with extended hours until 8 p.m. Thursdays. Admission to the gallery is free. Information: 410- 848-7272.
