Carroll man charged in molesting of boy, 7

A Carroll County man has been charged with sexually molesting a 7-year-old boy in the bathroom of a Westminster restaurant and is being held in the county Detention Center in lieu of $350,000 bail, county Deputy State's Attorney David P. Daggett said yesterday.

Jasen A. Weigman, 23, of the first block of W. George St. in Westminster, was arrested late Tuesday by officers from the Carroll County Advocacy and Investigation Center. He was charged with second-, third- and fourth-degree sex offenses, second-degree assault and perverted practice, according to court documents.

Weigman is accused of forcing a 7-year-old into a bathroom stall Monday night at the Ruby Tuesday restaurant at Malcolm Drive and Route 140, where, the boy said, he was sexually molested him, according to court documents.

Afterward, the child walked with his father through the restaurant and identified Weigman as his attacker, court documents said.

When investigators interviewed Weigman about the assault, he admitted he was involved, according to the statement of charges.

Weigman's bail review hearing could be held by early next week, Daggett said.
