It will be a canine conclave at the Maryland State Fairgrounds this weekend. The huge "Cherry Blossom Cluster" dog show features three kennel club shows with more than 2,000 purebred canines from more than 150 breeds. (Brichon frise are pictured.) Saturday's show will have dogs from the Old Dominion Kennel Club, Sunday's show includes animals from the Baltimore County Kennel Club, and Monday's show will have dogs from the Catoctin Kennel Club. In addition to the competitions each day, which will include obedience, rally and conformation trials, there will be a midway with doggie items from vendors. There will also be food concessions for human visitors. Dogs not entered in the competitions are not permitted in the building.

COMEDY

UNSCRIPTED WIT

Catch a lively improvisational performance by sketch comedians Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood at the Music Center at Strathmore tomorrow. The duo, known for their work on the TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway?, present quick-witted, original scenes of comedy. Audience members will become a part of the act, as well, participating in the game "Sound Effects," in which folks are called to the stage to provide sound effects matching the comedians' actions.

PAGEANT

REAL PAGEANTRY

Again this year -- as if you hadn't heard -- the 2006 Miss USA pageant is taking place in Charm City. And you're invited to watch it live tomorrow. Tickets are available for the dress rehearsal at 2 p.m. (for just $10) and the finals telecast at 9 p.m., both are at the 1st Mariner Arena. The competition will be broadcast live on NBC. Vying for the title of Miss USA 2006 are 51 contestants representing the 50 states plus the District of Columbia. The Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and Miss Universe pageants are all produced by the Miss Universe Organization, a partnership of Donald Trump and NBC Universal.

The Miss USA dress rehearsal is at 2 p.m. tomorrow, with tickets costing $10, and the Miss USA finals telecast is at 9 p.m. tomorrow, with tickets costing $35, $75 and $110. Both events take place at the 1st Mariner Arena, 201 W. Baltimore St. Call 410-547-SEAT or visit ticketmaster.com.
