Lucille Whittingham, 82, heating company president

Lucille E. Whittingham, who helped operate a family-owned plumbing, heating and air conditioning company, died of cancer Saturday at her Reisterstown home. She was 82.

Lucille E. Heiland was born in Baltimore and raised in Rockdale. She was a Catonsville High School graduate and worked for the Social Security Administration.

In 1946, she married John Howard Whittingham, and the next year he purchased Reinhardt Metal Co. in Randallstown, a sheet metal fabricating company.

Mrs. Whittingham worked in the business as an estimator and bookkeeper. When Mr. Whittingham he died in 1979, she became president of the company, which is now Reinhardt Heating & Air Conditioning.

"She was a workaholic and had not retired at her death," said Drew Martin, her son-in-law.

Mrs. Whittingham was a member of Baltimore First Free Methodist Church in Roland Park.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Liberty Road, Winfield.

Also surviving are a daughter, Diana Lynn Martin of Reisterstown; a brother, William T. Heiland Jr. of Finksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
