Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Baltimore

Northwestern

Arrest -- Officer James Howard was in the 2900 block of Garrison Blvd. about 1:30 a.m. Friday when he saw several members of an area gang. After taking a covert position, Howard noticed one of the men in possession of a handgun. When Howard approached the group, the armed man fled but was caught after a brief chase. Seized was a Glock 9 mm semiautomatic handgun. A check of the gun's serial number showed it had been stolen in Howard County. The man's identity and the charges were not available.

Southern

Assault/arrest -- Two male residents of the 2600 block of Pierpont St. were arguing outside their homes Friday when one man struck the other with a length of wood, injuring the victim's left arm and ankles. The victim was treated at Harbor Hospital Center and released. Arrested and charged with first-degree assault was Garren Edmonds, 27.

Burglary/arrests -- Three teenage boys were arrested Friday and charged with breaking into a house in the 6200 block of Gilston Park Road earlier that day and stealing several pieces of property. When the residents arrived home about 3 p.m., they saw three intruders, one of them the occupant's nephew, fleeing the house carrying jewelry, clothing, a laptop computer and video games. When the occupant pursued the three youths, one of them fired a warning shot into the air, which ended the chase. The three were arrested nearby and the property was recovered.
