BERNARD MORAN TENNYSON, 83 passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006 in Salisbury, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, MD, he attended Little Flower School, and Calvert Hall College. Service in the Marine Corps included tours in Okinawa, China, and Washington D.C. In 1949 he graduated from Loyola College with a BS in Accounting, in 1967 earned and LLB from the University of Baltimore. Most of Bernard's working career was spent as an accountant, auditor and fiscal officer in Baltimore. Active in community and professional organizations he held many positions of responsibility including Commander of VFW Post 195, charter member and secretary of Box 414, president of Loch Raven Improvement Association, president of St. Matthew's Ushers Society, treasurer of Association of Government Auditors. He belonged to the Bible Study Group and News Letter Staff at Mallard Landing. He was an enthusiastic associate of The Mason Collection at Shantytown. Bernard was recipient the Mayors Brick for Community Service to Baltimore City. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anne, children; Valerie Mason (George) of Salisbury, Robert Tennyson (Mary Jane) of Virginia, Thomas Tennyson (Cathy) of Ohio, Janet Tennyson (Cecil) of California, Shirley Donahue (David) of Maine, eight grand-children, and two great grand-children. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Joe Muth at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Loch Raven Blvd., on Monday at noon. Visitation will be held at 11:30. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to St. Matthew's, 5401 Loch Raven Blvd. Baltimore, Maryland 21239.
