Stage Hounds

Historically, man's best friend has had drama success in the theater. This week, Creative Alliance gives two spunky dogs their day

Bette Cassatt has been teaching old dogs new tricks.

To be more precise, Cassatt has been persuading her two Shetland sheep dogs to walk on a teeter-totter and jump through a hoop. To open a window. To carry a wallet in their mouths without slobbering all over it. To bark in unison to a tune that the two-legged actors are singing. And to disarm a mustache-twirling villain brandishing a handgun, while tying up his henchman with a rope.

Caesar; or The Watchdog of the Castle The Creative Alliance, 3134 Eastern Ave. 7:30 p.m. tomorrow; 8 p.m. Friday; 3:30 p.m., 8 p.m. Saturday. $10-$15. Information: 410-276-1651 or visit dogdrama.com
