Outlook

Perennial Washington-area power Landon of Bethesda has been playing the Greyhounds in lacrosse since 1998. The two are also football rivals, and many players on both teams play both sports. Gilman midfielder Brian Carroll, was The Sun's All-Metro Defensive Player of the Year as a linebacker last fall, when the Greyhounds football team blanked Landon, 14-0. Landon lacrosse coach Rob Bordley is also the Bears' football coach.

No. 3 Dulaney vs. No. 4 McDonogh at Johns Hopkins

Outlook

This clash of undefeated teams in the 10th Maryland High School Lacrosse Showdown pits defending Class 4A-3A state champion Dulaney against last year's Interscholastic Athletic Association A2 Conference champion. McDonogh makes its first appearance in the game, while the Lions fell to St. Paul's last year.

In one of the marquee matchups of the girls lacrosse season, the Knights, a Class 2A-1A state finalist last season, will face defending Class 4A-3A state champion Dulaney in the opening round of the Baltimore Lacrosse Showcase. Century will then face Hereford at 1 p.m. in the round-robin format.
