Brian Carroll, a 6-foot, 200-pound All-Metro senior midfielder, led the No. 2 Greyhounds to two victories, 11-9 over St. Paul's, and 13-9 over Mount St. Joseph, in Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference action last week.

Carroll, who will play lacrosse at Virginia, had eight goals, 13 ground balls and won nine of 17 faceoffs in the two games, as the Greyhounds extended their winning streak to three since losing to top-ranked Boys' Latin.

Carroll had three goals and six ground balls against St. Paul's on April 4 as Gilman handed the Crusaders their first loss. On Friday, Carroll had five goals, seven ground balls and won six of nine faceoffs.

On the year, Carroll has 34 ground balls, 21 goals and seven assists. A versatile athlete who is considered among the nation's premier midfielders, Carroll also was last fall's All-Metro Defensive Player of The Year in football as a linebacker, leading the Greyhounds to a 9-0 record and their seventh MIAA A Conference title.
