Margaret Leppo, 83, executive secretary, avid bowler

Margaret M. Leppo, a retired executive secretary and active church member, died of cancer April 2 at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. The longtime Lutherville resident was 83.

She was born and raised Margaret M. Dixon in South Baltimore and was a 1938 graduate of Southern High School's commercial course.

Mrs. Leppo was a typist and then secretary at the Cannon Shoe Co. before going to work in 1951 as executive secretary for Thomas F. McNulty III, president and owner of Belvedere Broadcasting Corp. and its radio station, WWIN.

She retired in 1980.

Known as "Mags," Mrs. Leppo enjoyed traveling and was an avid bowler. She regularly bowled for many years with Bou-tem-sci and the Straight Shooters at Timonium Fairlanes.

She was a member of First English Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, E. Ray Leppo Jr., a retired designer for Hess Shoes, and a cousin, Eleanor Werner of Arbutus.

Services were Thursday.
