President-elect of state PTA resigns

April 09, 2006|By LIZ F. KAY

A Randallstown man who leads the Baltimore County Council of PTAs has resigned as president-elect of the state PTA, he and a leader of the organization have confirmed.

Maryland PTA President Mary Jo Neil said Friday that the state organization accepted Michael C. Franklin's resignation March 31. Because the PTA took the action during an executive session, she said she could not comment on why he left.

Franklin said that he has "a fundamentally different management style than the president."

Franklin became state PTA president-elect in November. Term limits prevent him from running again for president of the Baltimore County PTA Council during elections April 27.
