Griffin, Vera Grace

On March 17, 2006, at Moses Cohen Memorial Hospital, in Greensboro, NC, after a short illness, VERA GRACE GRIFFIN (nee Keen). Mrs. Griffin was a native of Ewell, Surrey, England, but lived in Baltimore for many years following World War II. She was a member of the Woman's Auxiliary Air Force of Royal Air Force during the war. She was preceeded in death by her husband Kenneth W. Griffin, Sr.; two sons, Kenneth W. Griffin, Jr. and Charles A. Griffin; a sister, Joyce Wallington, of Hertfordshire, England. She is survived by her son Bruce D. (Jennifer) Griffin and their son Keen, of Summerfield, NC; her sister, Freda Kirkham, of Sussex, England; her daughter-in-law, Marleen Griffin; grandchildren, Kimberly (Rob) Mercaldo, Bill (Jennifer) Griffin, of Baltimore. She also had three great-grandchildren in Baltimore, Jackson D. Griffin, Griffin Luca Mercaldo and Ryan W. Griffin. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2006, from 1 P.M. until 5 P.M. in HUBBARD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4107 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, MD. Funeral Services will begin at 3 P.M. on Sunday at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place on Monday, April 10, 2006, at 10 A.M. in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in rememberance to the Charles A. Griffin Scholarship Fund, 2511 Fernwood Drive, Greensboro, NC 27408.
