Griffin, Vera Grace

VERA GRACE GRIFFIN (nee Keen), passed away on March 17, 2006 at Moses Cohen Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC., after a short illness. Mrs. Griffin was a native of Ewell Surrey, England, but lived in Baltimore for many years following World War II. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force of Royal Air Force during the war. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth W. Griffin, Sr.; two sons Kenneth W. Griffin, Jr. and Charles A. Griffin; and a sister Joyce Wallington of Hertfordshire, England. She is survived by her son Bruce D. (Jennifer) Griffin and their son Keen of Summerfield, NC; her sister Freda Kirkham of Sussex, England; her daughter-in-law, Marleen Griffin; grandchildren Kimberly (Rob) Mercaldo, Bill (Jennifer) Griffin of Baltimore. She also had three great-grandchildren in Baltimore, Jackson D. Griffin, Griffin Luca Mercaldo and Ryan W. Griffin. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2006 from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. in HUBBARD FUNERAL HOME INC., 4107 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, MD. Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place on Monday, April 10, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in remembrance to the Charles A. Griffin Scholarship Fund, 2511 Fernwood Drive, Greensboro, NC 27408.
