A 19-year-old Baltimore man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and use of a handgun for his role in the death of 30-year-old Sheronda Butcher, according to the Baltimore City state's attorney's office.

Roderick Dwayne Johnson of the 400 block of S. Augusta Ave. was sentenced to 40 years in prison, with all but 20 years suspended, prosecutors said. The first five years of the sentence are to be served without the possibility of parole.

Prosecutors said that on Oct. 9, 2004, Johnson shot Butcher in a dispute over money, as she attempted to close a window in her home in the 800 block of N. Fulton Ave.
