Easter play set for Wednesday

Bethany Lane Baptist Church, 3030 Bethany Lane, Ellicott City, will present New Day, an original dramatic Easter Passion play, at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 15.

More than 100 members of the community will present the story of Jesus. This year's performance features a new script and score compiled by the Rev. Sherrie McKay.

Admission is free but tickets are required. A donation will be collected.

Easter story for kids planned tomorrow

Christ Lutheran Church will tell the story of Easter to children in kindergarten through fifth grade from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Meeting Room, 6330 Trotter Road, Columbia.

Games, crafts, songs and a snack are planned. The event includes an egg hunt.

Admission is free, but registration is required.

Matzah bakery at Lubavitch Center

The Lubavitch Center for Jewish Education, 770 Howes Lane, Columbia, will hold an Open House Matzah Bakery from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Those who attend can see matzah being made for Pesach (Passover) and hear about the laws and traditions that govern its production.

Chametz (leavened bread or other grain products) that has been collected for disposal in anticipation of the holiday (when only unleavened foods are to be eaten) will be burned in a metal fire-safe container at the Lubavitch Center at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Everyone is invited to bring chametz to burn.

Bet Yeladim offering camp for kids, 3 to 5

Bet Yeladim Preschool and Kindergarten will offer summer camp for children ages 3 to 5. Children can participate in a number of activities.

Applications are available at 8070 Harriet Tubman Lane, Columbia, and at the Meeting House, 5885 Robert Oliver Place, in Oakland Mills.

Registration for the 2006-2007 preschool, full-day kindergarten and parent/child program also is being accepted.

Session for separated, divorced to be held

Chapelgate Presbyterian Church in Marriottsville will offer a seminar for separated and divorced people, "Fresh Start," today and tomorrow.

The cost is $55; $30 for alumni. Registration in advance is preferred.

The church, at 2600 Marriottsville Road, is a quarter-mile south of Interstate 70.
