Head-on collision kills two women

A collision yesterday afternoon in Madonna claimed the lives of two women, one from Baltimore County and the other from Pennsylvania, said state police at the Bel Air Barracks. A 1996 Chevrolet Blazer heading east on Norrisville Road suddenly entered the westbound lane and crashed head-on into a 2000 Subaru Outback, police reported. After the crash, the Subaru hit a utility pole. Police said Kimberly Kudrick, 39, of Felton, Pa., the driver of the Blazer, died at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Nancy Elizabeth Tillman, 64, of White Hall, the Subaru driver, died at Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, police said.

Police officer has sentence modified

A Baltimore police officer had her sentence for a gambling conviction modified to probation before judgment yesterday, prosecutors said. District Judge Nathan Braverman revised the sentence for Officer Vicki Mengel. Mengel had pleaded guilty to gambling offenses after she was caught in a police raid of a high-stakes poker game in Northeast Baltimore this year. Prosecutors said she has paid a $150 fine.
