JOYCE ANNE REDMOND, 92, formerly of Ellicott City, Maryland, died 19 March, 2006 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, New Jersey. Born June 23, 1913 in Chicopee, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Gabryela Nowak. She had been the wife of John A. Redmond, II for 59 years. He predeceased her on September 17, 1998. From 1939 until 1998, her role was that of housewife, mother and homemaker. She and John successfully raised two children and enjoyed the companionship of many relatives and friends. Most of the latter were employees of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation where John had worked for 49 years. She resided in Ellicott City, Maryland after moving there from Catonsville in 1961. In 1998 she moved to Flemington, New Jersey to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara R. and the late Michael W. Nieberding. She moved to Hunterdon Care Center in May of 2001. Surviving, in addition to her daughter, are John A. and Kathryn J. Redmond, III of Sykesville, Maryland, brother-in-law Donald Corey of Franklin, New York, brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Katherine Jensen of Fowler, Colorado, four grandsons, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Helene O'Connell and Constance Corey, and brothers Stephen Nowak, Walter Nowak, and Raymond Nowak all of Massachusetts. A memorial service will be held at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 13125 Forsythe Rd., Sykesville, Maryland at 10:00 A.M. April 15, 2006 with the Reverend Earl Mullins officiating. Internment will be at the Pines Cemetery, Westcliffe, Colorado at a later date.
