DON E. MARIETTA Jr., passed away on March 30, 2006. He was born in Montgomery, AL, on November 1, 1926 to Don E. Marietta Sr., and Emma Shores. He spent a greater part of his childhood in North Florida and Southern Alabama. He attended Birmingham Southern College and received his Ph D at Vanderbilt University. For 12 years he served as an Episcopal Priest prior to becoming a full time philosophy professor at Florida Atlantic University in Boco Raton, FL. He spent the last 15 years of his 33 year career as the Distinguished Professor of Ethics. Following his retirement he was a resident of Woodstock, VT, until his move to Towson, MD in 2005. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gordon of Towson, MD, two sons, Robert Marietta of Columbia, MD, and Don E. Marietta III of Cambridge, MA, five step children, Vicki Biltz of Bonney Lake, WA, Lisa Raheb and Veronica Crowell of Wichita, KS, Teresa Melendez of Peteluma, CA, Gregory Crowell of Denver, CO, and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rosanne Louise Marietta and two step sons, Jay Robert Crowell and Gordon Dailey Crowell. Also surviving are one brother, William Marietta of Camp Hill, PA and three sisters, Donna Marietta of Punce Inlet, FL, Beth Lyons of Mobile, AL and Susan Marietta of Gainesville, FL. Services are pending.
