Wonneman, Irene Frances

IRENE FRANCES (Ward) WONNEMAN, 86, wife of the late George J. Wonneman and mother of Patricia (Tollie) Barber, George, Jr. and David (Mary), died peacefully March 28, 2006 at Gilchrist Hospice. She was cared for until the end by her children and her much loved sister, Rosalie. A Long time resident of Parkville, she and her husband retired to Cape Coral, FL where they lived amid their citrus trees and mangos. She returned to Baltimore after her husband's death and resided at Oak Crest Village. She'll be missed dearly by grandchildren, Kimberly (Chris) Magee, George, III, Aaron, Matthew, Catherine and Jessica and great-grandchildren Riley and Aiden. Irene is survived by brother, Clifton, and sister Rosalie Reed and was preceded in death by brother, Albert, and sisters, Ethel Gamber and Mildred Blatchley. Family will receive guests at Evans Funeral Home in Parkville, March 30, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral services will be in the chapel at Oak Crest Village 10 A.M., March 31 with burial immediately following at Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Irene was ready to join her late husband for whom she prayed each night. We will all miss her strength, generous spirit and sense of humor.
