SYLVIA FREEMAN PANITZ died March 29, 2006 after a short illness. Sylvia was born in Baltimore, MD. She graduated from Forest Park High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland. She taught in the Baltimore City public schools for a short time until she married Bernard Panitz and moved to Wilmington, DE. She taught briefly in Wilmington until she left to raise a family. She was very active in the Parent Teacher groups at the various schools and was secretary of the Hanby Jr. High PTA. She was secretary of the Adas Kodesch Shel Emeth Sisterhood. She is survived by her husband, Bernard D. Panitz; children, Joel and Gary Panitz of Wilmington, Deena Bleich of Montgomery Village, MD and Debra Fredman and Beth Edwards of Rockville, MD; brother, Emanuel Freeman; grandchildren, Rachel, Nathan and Judah Fredman; Ilana, Jessica and Kayla Bleich and Samuel Edwards. Graveside services will be 2 P.M. Thursday, March 30, 2006 at the Farband Cemetery, Essex, MD. Shiva will be observed 7 P.M. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 2405 Newton Dr., Chalfonte, Wilmington, DE.
