Where --220 N. Washington St., Falls Church, Va.

Call --703-237-0300

Notable --There are great sightlines and sound quality from just about every nook and cranny in the place. With a dance floor, dinner tables and a seated balcony upstairs, the State Theatre is also quite accommodating.

Vibe --Up-close and comfortable.

What to wear --You might want to model your getup based on the band you go to see, but if you don't, no one's going to single you out.

Crowd --This also depends on the act playing. You could see bearded bikers, jazz heads or hippies.

Music --Mostly grassroots, bluegrass, singer/songwriters, jam and tribute bands. Coming shows include Jah Works, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, the Fixx, the Legwarmers, Little Feat, Nils Lofgren and Bruce in the USA.
