Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Bogus products -- A Florida man was arrested early Monday by Maryland Transportation Authority Police and charged with possession of counterfeit purses, wallets, belts, scarves and watches. Many of the products bore bogus Rolex, Louis Vuitton and Chanel labels. Arana Fernando, 36, of Hialeah, was driving a 2000 BMW north on Interstate 95 near Keith Avenue about 2:20 a.m. when he was stopped for speeding. During an interview, an officer observed several leather products on the rear seat and an investigation revealed the items were counterfeit. Found in a door compartment was a police nightstick. Fernando also was charged with unlawful possession of a deadly weapon and was being held at Central Booking and Intake Center.

Robbery -- A woman, 54, was leaving her job in the 3200 block of Eastern Ave. about 8 p.m. Monday when two young males shoved her aside and stole her purse.


Shooting -- A man, 20, was admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospital early yesterday after someone shot him in the chest with a shotgun in the 2400 block of Barclay St.


Carjacking -- Police were seeking two men, one with a handgun, who forced a man out of a blue 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier in the 2100 block of Northcliff Drive about 7 p.m. Monday and drove off. The car has tags KDS 123.

Robbery -- A man, 20, was riding a bicycle in the 1100 block of E. Northern Parkway about 12:15 a.m. Monday when two men shoved him to the ground and robbed him of his wallet and a portable CD player.


Sexual assault/robbery -- Police were seeking a man who forced a woman, 20, into a vacant house in the 4400 block of Pen Lucy Road on Friday afternoon and sexually assaulted her at knifepoint. After the attack, the man robbed her of $120, a cell phone and her boots.


Robbery/stabbing -- A man, 20, was stabbed in the left shoulder about 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 1300 block of Ostend St. by one of two men who robbed him of $50, a cell phone, keys and a jacket. The victim was treated at the scene.

Baltimore County


Shooting -- A male bystander in his mid-30s was shot in the leg about 5 p.m. yesterday during a drive-by shooting in the first block of Driftwood Court. He was treated at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.


Assault/arrest -- A 33-year-old man who had been banned from Parkway Crossing Shopping Center in the 2300 block of Cleanleigh Drive was arrested Monday night and charged with assaulting a security officer there a short time earlier. Gary Williams, of the first block of Saturn Court, was charged with first-degree assault.

Burglary -- A bicycle valued at $2,000 was stolen over the weekend from the basement of a house in the first block of Tommy True Court. Entry was through the basement door.


Burglary -- Someone broke into a vacant house in the 2800 block of Smith Ave. between Friday and Monday and stole a ceramic tile saw.
