Question Of The Day

The Kickoff

March 27, 2006

Is baseball's spring training too long?

Based on recent history, for the Angelos-led Orioles, the spring training season appears to be the perfect length for a fourth-place, four-game-under-.500 season.

Michael S. Herman Sr.

Baldwin

No, for every day of spring training one is allowed to dream of seeing the Orioles as a winning team. Once the regular season starts, reality sets in.

Michael Block

Hampstead

No, spring training is perfect. It's the regular season that's too long. Is it really necessary for Baltimore and Tampa Bay to play each other 19 times to decide who will finish fourth in the American League East every year? I think seven games would be plenty.
