State police seek woman in stabbing

State police at the Westminster barracks were seeking a Montgomery County woman yesterday in the stabbing of her 50-year-old boyfriend during an argument yesterday in the man's Mount Airy home. The man was not seriously injured. Gerald Daras of the 7700 block of Pheasant Ridge Drive told troopers that during an argument about 3 p.m. yesterday, his girlfriend, Lynn Ashley Atchison, 44, of the 500 block of Calvin Lane in Rockville, retrieved two dinner knives from the kitchen and stabbed him once in a leg and once in a shoulder. Police said Atchison fled moments before the first trooper arrived. Police said Daras was treated at the scene by medics and released. Police said anyone knowing Atchison's whereabouts is urged to call state police at 410-386-3000.

Baltimore: Fatal shooting

Police release name of slain man

Police released yesterday the name of the man who was found fatally shot Saturday in the 1200 block of Mapleleaf Court. Derrick Green, 21, whose last known address was on the same block as the shooting, was found about 1:25 a.m. with multiple shots to the abdomen. He died at the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 410-276-8888.

Medicare meeting scheduled tonight

An informational session on the Medicare Part D program is set for tonight at the Union Baptist Church, 1219 Druid Hill Ave. Sponsored by the Baltimore branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the session will include a presentation by John Stewart of the city's Commission on Aging and Retirement on the new prescription drug option. The workshop is set to run from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Information: 410-366-3300.
