A SENSE OF PLACE -- The Baltimore County League of Women Voters will present a talk by Robert W. Stanhope, chief naturalist of the Baltimore County Recreation and Parks Department, at 6 p.m. at the Sheppard Pratt Conference Center, 6501 N. Charles St., Towson. The talk is "A Sense of Place: From Coastal Plain to Piedmont." Admission is $10.


BALTIMORE COUNTY SCHOOLS -- The Baltimore County school board will meet at 7:30 p.m. to vote on the proposed boundary lines for the new Windsor Mill Middle School and hear a report on the secondary English and language arts curriculum. The meeting will be in Room 114, Education Support Services Building, on the Greenwood campus, 6901 Charles St., Towson.


DOCUMENTARY -- The documentary The Boys of Baraka, which shows 20 Baltimore pupils' experiences at a school in Kenya, will be screened at 7 p.m. at Loyola College. BOOK SALE -- The Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary will hold a Books Are Fun sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the hospital's main lobby in Westminster. The sale will continue 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. 410-871-6836.


POSTCARD FAIR -- The Spring Chesapeake Postcard Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the community center on Lagaret Lane in Havre de Grace. The fair will continue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $3. 410-642-3581.

SCIENCE EDUCATION -- The University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute will hold Education Stakeholders Day to showcase efforts to improve math and science education and foster science and technology careers in Maryland from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Columbus Center, 701 E. FAIRY TALE EXTRAVAGANZA -- The Enoch Pratt Free Library will hold its fourth annual Fairy Tale Festival Weekend Extravaganza from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the central library, 400 Cathedral St. The free event, which includes games, crafts and live music, will continue from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

CAREGIVER CONFERENCE -- A free conference for caregivers, "Caring for Those Who Care," will be presented by the Geriatric Assistance and Information Network and the Harford County Office on Aging from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the McFaul Activities Center, 525 W. KING MEMORIAL SERVICE -- A service to honor Coretta Scott King and to mark the 38th anniversary of the assassination of her husband, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., will be held at 5 p.m. at the Pascal Theater at Anne Arundel Community College, 101 College Parkway, Arnold.
