Howard County has rated a certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting for the 30th consecutive year from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, Howard County Executive James N. Robey has announced.

The award, the organization's highest form of recognition, was presented for the county's Annual Financial Report, issued for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2005.

The report lists all county funds, including general, special revenue, capital projects, enterprise, internal service, trust and agency funds.

Application can be made at the Community Action Council, on the second floor of the Gateway Building, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia.
