County sets schedule for waste disposal

The county Department of Public Works has announced the schedule for household hazardous waste disposal days:

April 8, Sudley Convenience Center, 5400 Nutwell Road, Deale.

May 20, Glen Burnie Convenience Center, 100 Dover Road, Glen Burnie.

June 10, Millersville Landfill and Resource Recovery Facility, 389 Burns Crossing Road, Severn.

July 15, Sudley Convenience Center, 5400 Nutwell Road, Deale.

Sept. 9, Glen Burnie Convenience Center, 100 Dover Road, Glen Burnie.

Oct. 21, Millersville Landfill and Resource Recovery Facility, 389 Burns Crossing Road.

Harbor Hospital plans seminars

Harbor Hospital is offering these activities:

Conflict resolution Center offers course

The Anne Arundel Conflict Resolution Center will offer a 15-hour course on exploring needs, wants, relationships, setting goals and helping others meet their needs.

Classes are held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays at the center's offices, Heritage Center, Suite 130, 2666 Riva Road, Annapolis.

The course, the second of a two-part series, began March 21 and runs through April 25. There will be no class April 18. Each course costs $135 and includes materials. 410-266-9033.

Medical center plans yoga classes

Anne Arundel Medical Center is offering the following yoga classes:

"Beginning Yoga" - the basics of Hatha yoga, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, or 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays.

"Continuing Yoga" - an intermediate class, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays.

"Mom and Baby Yoga and Infant Massage" - 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Tuesdays. The fee is $40 for four weeks.

"Mommy and Me" - covers postpartum issues in strengthening the pelvis, abdominal muscles and core alignment, 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Fridays.

"Yoga and Meditation" - 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays. All levels welcome.

"Therapeutic Yoga" - covers comfort levels, breathing exercises and focus, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays and 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursdays.

"Prenatal Yoga" - for expectant mothers (all trimesters; physician's consent required), 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturdays.

If not noted, classes are $10 each and will be held on the second floor of the Sajak Pavilion. Monthly registration required.

Sports health classes available this month

The Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department is offering these classes on sports health at the Recreation Center Gym:

Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., toddler and preschooler open gym for ages 5 and younger. Slides, tunnels, mats and balls. Drop-in fee: $2.

Saturdays, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., introduction to soccer for ages 4 to 6. Fee: $55.

Saturdays, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., soccer basics for ages 3 and 4 with a parent. Fee: $45.

Saturdays, 10:30 a.m., "Be Active Together," parent-and-child interactive physical activity with nutrition lessons for ages 4 to 6; a class for ages 7 to 9 will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fee: $45 per pair.

Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., "What's Cooking? Introduction to Healthy Foods That Taste Good" for ages 4 to 6; a class for ages 7 to 9 will be held from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Fee: $40.

Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., "When It's Too Cold or Wet to Walk Outside, Stop by the Gym." Free.

Wednesdays, 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., adult Pilates workouts. Fee: $50.
