Movie director Rob Cohen will be in Baltimore this weekend to work on a far more important production than even his two recent blockbusters, The Fast and the Furious and XXX.

He'll be getting married.

Cohen, who as a boy spent summers living in the Baltimore area with three cousins, will be visiting what he regards as his adopted city to marry Barbara Lardera, a former Italian model now studying to become a travel agent.

"The core gang that I love lives and has always lived in Baltimore," says Cohen.

On the practical side, Cohen, who was born in upstate New York, notes that Charm City serves as a nice midpoint between his home in Malibu, Calif., and his fiancee's family's home in Milan, Italy.

The wedding is set for tomorrow night at the Harbor Court Hotel, preceded by what he describes as an "obscene crab feast" tonight in Fells Point.

Although many of Cohen's friends and associates from Hollywood will be in town for the wedding, he said, don't expect any big-name stars. The guest list is being kept to around 60.

This will be the fourth wedding for Cohen, 57, and the first for Lardera, 34. The couple will live in Malibu.
