From feet to the fire

March 22, 2006

If the smell of burning gym socks is in the air, you know spring has arrived in Annapolis - or specifically, Eastport, where residents and visitors gathered Monday to participate in the peculiar local equinox ritual. The Terpays invited their friends the Lyman-Walkers to town for the occasion. The unusual tradition was started by local boat worker Bob Turner several decades ago.
