Boys' Latin's Boland stays goal-oriented

BOYS

In four games, all victories for the No. 2 Lakers, Boys' Latin's Chris Boland, a two-time All-Metro attackman, had eight goals and 20 assists. Boland, who had 84 goals and 92 assists over the past two seasons, is headed for Johns Hopkins.

The Lakers' first three games were played during a tour of Florida, where they defeated local teams St. Andrews, 17-7, and Pine Crest, 19-2. Boland had a goal and five assists, and a goal and six assists, respectively, in those games.

Also, Boland had three goals and seven assists in an 18-10 victory over St. Mark's of Texas, a game also played in Florida. In Friday's 21-5 rout of Oakton of Virginia at Boys' Latin, Boland had three goals and two assists.

Boland also was a second-team All-Baltimore County defensive back in football.
