A 64-year-old Woodstock woman died after the car she was driving crossed the double-yellow line on Route 99 near Tiller Drive in Ellicott City and crashed into an oncoming sport utility vehicle about 1 p.m. Saturday.

Maria Steve Antoniou, 64, of the 1000 block of Dorchester Way was pronounced dead at Howard County General Hospital.

Her passenger in the Toyota Corolla, Sotirios Antoniou, 76, and the driver of the Highlander, Sharon Lyn Schmickley, 49, of the 3000 block of Greenway Drive in Ellicott City, were treated at Howard County General and released.

A Howard County police spokeswoman said yesterday that investigators have not determined why Maria Antoniou's vehicle veered into eastbound traffic.
