Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Suspect sought -- Police were seeking a third person in the operation of a marijuana manufacturing and distribution ring after the arrests of two people last week in an apartment in the 3000 block of Greenmount Ave. Arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine and heroin and unlawful possession of firearms were Sherwin Brown, 38, and Tonya Scott, 30. Documents found in the apartment identified the third person as a resident there, said Sgt. Donald Kramer, head of the district's drug enforcement unit.


Drug arrests -- Baltimore City and County police last week raided two city houses and one in the county, said Detective David Jones of the Central District's drug enforcement unit. Kevin Bales Jr., 19, was arrested at his home in the 8400 block of Water Oak Road in Parkville, Baltimore County, and charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute. He was being held without bail. Thomas M. Johnson, 44, was arrested at his home in the 900 block of W. 38th St. and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of a stolen .45-caliber handgun. Johnson was being held on $50,000 bail. A house in the 2800 block of Miles Ave. yielded heroin and packaging materials but no arrests.

FOR THE RECORD - In yesterday's Police Blotter column, the wrong location was given for the arrest of Kevin L. Bales Jr. on a cocaine-possession charge. Bales was arrested in the 2800 block of Miles Ave.

Stolen van -- A green 1994 Plymouth Voyager with tags M658575 was stolen in the 5600 block of Belair Road between Friday night and early Saturday.

Baltimore County


Burglary -- Jewelry and cash - all valued at $540 - were stolen between March 11 and Saturday from a house in the 3000 block of Fourth Ave.


Burglary -- An undisclosed sum of money was stolen Friday from an apartment in the first block of Virunga Court.

North Point

Stolen vehicle -- A brown four-door 1995 Chrysler with tags MNP 824 was stolen over the weekend in the 2700 block of Liberty Parkway.
