TOP PERFORMERS

Shelden Williams, Duke --He scored 17 points and set a Blue Devils single-season record with 14 rebounds.

Josh McRoberts, Duke --The freshman contributed 14 points and 13 rebounds - his second double double of the season.

Darrel Mitchell, LSU -- His decision to shoot at the end rather than pass to Glen Davis proved the right one.

SURPRISES

J.J. Redick -- Normally unerring from the line, the Duke star missed five of seven free-throw attempts.

George Washington -- GW was able to hit just 30.0 percent of its field-goal attempts, 27.0 in the first half.

Texas A&M -- Twice, the Aggies fell far back and looked ready to be routed, but came back both times.

THEY SAID IT

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski -- "I've been waiting four years to needle J.J. [Redick] about his free-throw shooting."

George Washington's Omar Williams -- "I thought they let them [Duke] play a little more on defense than they let us."

LSU coach John Brady --"When [Darrel Mitchell] let it go, I felt confident that it was going in."
